This section is to spotlight book award lists that feature books we have here at the library.

Volunteer State Book Award: This award is given annually to the book (from a list of 25 nominees) voted on by Tennessee students.

Michael L. Printz Award: This annual award is given to outstanding young adult books.

Best Books for Young Adults: This annual list, compiled by the American Library Association, is for outstanding, highly appealing books for young adults.

Outstanding Books for the College Bound: Also from the American Library Association, this list of books for students who plan on going to college is updated every five years.


Coretta Scott King Award: This annual award is given to African-American authors and illustrators outstanding educational and inspirational contributions to children's and young adult literature.
