*Chapter meetings will be held during the 1st Wednesday club time of the month.
**Executive Council meetings will be held on the Tuesday before each Chapter meeting
at 7:15 am in order to get organized.
FCCLA 2008-2009 CHAPTER MEETINGS

- o August –Recruit, Recruit, Recruit!!! Participate in getting the word out about meetings and inviting friends to become members. Membership Goal for 2008-2009….75, Encourage all FCSstudents to exhibit at least one entry in the Robertson County Fair.

Community Service Projects
• August- Open House table display,
- “Save the Courtyard” Challenge to donate $100 to be matched by school
- Begin weekly “Public Service Announcements” to be read on Monday morning

• September-Provide Parent-Teacher refreshments and Child Care services on September 18
• October-Participate in Integrated Project—“Patchwork of Kindness” to make quilts for donation
• November-Participate in Canned food drive with Beta
• December-Create Angel Tree and food for families in need within our school and community
• January-Initiate Coat Drive -Donated to various churches within the community
-Sponsor Winter Formal for the Underclassmen
• February- FCCLA WEEK activities-2nd week
- Teacher Appreciation Chili and Soup with Dessert Luncheon
- Sell Candy-Grams and donate $ to National Projects
• March-Prepare and Serve an Arts at East Spaghetti Dinner for Band and Drama to raise funds
for new sound equipment for the Auditorium to enhance our school arts program
• April-Promote Turn Off Your TV Day with morning announcements
• May-Prepare Teacher Appreciation Breakfast
MISSION
To promote personal growth and leadership development through roles of family member, wage earner, and community leader. Members develop skills for life through: character development, creative and creative thinking, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge, and vocational preparation.
PURPOSES
1. To provide opportunities for personal development and preparation for adult life.
2. To strengthen the function of the family as a basic unit of society.
3. To encourage democracy through cooperative action in the home and community.
4. To encourage individual and group involvement in helping to achieve global cooperation and harmony.
5. To promote a greater understanding between youth and adults.
6. To provide opportunities for making decisions and for assuming responsibilities.
7. To prepare for the multiple roles of men and women in today’s society.
8. To promote family and consumer sciences and related occupations.
COLORS: RED A)D WHITE
The official colors of the organization contribute to national unity and provide a national identity.
Red suggests strength, courage and determination. White symbolizes sincerity of purpose and
integrity of action.
FLOWER: RED ROSE
The red rose symbolizes a desire for beauty in everyday living.
EMBLEM:
This is the official emblem for the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America chapters.
NAME AND EMBLEM USE:
The following guidelines are recommended when wearing the official emblem:
1. Wear the emblem over the heart or on a jacket pocket.
FCCLA PIN
The pin is a reproduction of the FCCLA emblem. Members, advisers, honorary members, Alumni &
Associates members use the shield guard carrying the letters FCCLA. The guard for advisers is an A; for honorary members, an H; and for chapter parents, a P.
The FCCLA pin is worn over the heart. The guard should be placed level with the lower point of the pin.
The wearer determines the number of symbols to be worn at one time and their placement of the chain.
